Throughout man’s existence he has searched and wondered about his origins. Darwin has solved one side of the equation; the other side is more recent and far more personal.
Most of us know our parents, our grandparents, even our great-grandparents, but how many can tread any further back on that dusty road in to the past? Sadly, it often takes advancing years to prompt us to do anything about it. Sadly, because by then most of the best sources of information are long dead! The search will be time consuming, confusing, frustration, down right maddening and unbelievably rewarding!
For most of us it is a step-by-step, generation-by-generation journey back into history. On the way we will meet wars, poverty, disease, success, fortitude, bravery and joy; and we may learn a little about ourselves. We are the sum of our ancestors and, when we find those individuals, they will live in the family for all time. Part of us, part of what we are.
A small band of us genealogists can, if you are lucky, provide a shortcut. This is what the website is all about. For over 30 years I have researched the Descendants of William the Conqueror and am now gradually placing the information at your disposal. It may help you, it may not. It is ever expanding.
The GENEALOGY page will take you to the main database plus links to other members of this “Band of Brothers and Sisters” who have the same objective as I.

For several years I have been writing short pieces of historical trivia on a monthly basis for my work colleagues. It has been suggested that I place them on the website as they may be of interest and , occasionally, amusement! So here is this month's offering. Just click on THE TRIVIA PAGE above. It will be changed at the beginning of each month.
You will notice that, unlike many websites, the information is presented to you completely free of charge. Unfortunately, providing that information, for your delectation and delight, is not! If you would like to assist please use the site as your gateway to AMAZON both .com and .co.uk, depending on your location. It will cost you nothing; but it will give you the satisfaction and that warm feeling inside, knowing you have helped defray the cost of the site. Just Bookmark this page in your Favourites under AMAZON and, whenever you need to order an item click on one of the icons at the bottom of the page. Thank you!
The Internet can give you a taste - books give you the full meal!
